Nova Kitchen & Bar is a modern neighbourhood restaurant in Port Moody and North Vancouver, “inspired by classic steakhouses but free from the formality.” It pairs a globally inspired menu of fresh seafood and premium cuts with a cocktail program from award-winning bartender Max Curzon-Price.
The brief
A site that feels as polished as the room (deep blue velvet, warm light, a hand-drawn orange flourish) and still reads as welcoming rather than formal. It also had to handle a second location opening shortly after launch.
What I built
- A bold, image-led homepage that introduces the restaurant in a few lines and gets guests to the menu or a reservation quickly.
- A menu CMS with a separate menu for each meal period (Golden Hour, Breakfast, Lunch, All Day and Drinks), so the team can update dishes and prices without touching the design.
- A Reservations dropdown in the header that sends guests straight to the right location’s OpenTable page.
- A multi-location structure with each location’s address, phone, hours and manager contact, which made adding North Vancouver a content update rather than a rebuild.
- An About page for the restaurant’s story and the team behind it, from the chef de cuisine to the bar consultant.
- An announcement bar for news like “Nova North Vancouver — Now Open!”
Outcome
A site with the confidence of a modern steakhouse and the ease of a neighbourhood spot, built to grow as new locations open.
